Shiver with wintering birds

Visit Izunuma & Uchinuma lakes to watch a great number of birds

Shiver with wintering birds

Izunuma, Uchinuma and Naganuma lakes do not freeze in winter and there are many rice fields around them. It is a paradise for wintering birds: they sleep on the lakes and feed themselves with fallen grains of rice on the fields.
A variety of geese, swans and ducks storm up at dawn and come back in groups at dusk.

Watching the countless birds is an awesome experience. It is also a shivering experience...
But BAKKE believes it is worth shivering to witness the spectacular beauty of nature.
These lakes are preserved as a waterfowl habitat and listed in Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.
